A highlight for the week so far was of course, Olivia's Oscars party. Not only did she have a red carpet for us to grace, saunter and toddle down; she also had a sweep and prizes. I arrived home with armfuls of girly delights and goodies- so happy. Wonderful thing I have kept all of my treasured items from http://www.ver-unica.com/vu/ ( San Fransisco - great for movie star stylin'). While on the subject of special events...
Yo La Tengo are here now.
( A bit later)
I was just given the opportunity to wheel some of their gear through to the studio. They had a lot of stuff. Mel from Remote Control was a savage wheeler indeed. Some of the door appears to be missing. Mel is one of those people I love to watch unfold. Often she appears with freshly baked muffins. It's a bit like Wonder Woman, where one never knows what might happen next. Yo La Tengo ( Georgia, Ira and James ) were the kind of people I'd like to see every day as friends. They seemed familiar in that way and made us laugh too.Watching them gleefully put their heads through those life size banana in pyjamas peekaboo statues for photos,( to take home for show and tell), was also cute.
Every thing feels very buzzy today. A beautiful bunch of balloons were delivered.
Speaking of ethereal, Lisa Gerrard was about yesterday. My colleague Rosie, mistook her for a flight attendant. I made the error of telling Lisa one of my favourite all time songs was the Savana song ( The Mirror Pool album from 95) . She said "errrr, you mean Sanvean?" Oh. Yeah...that one. Hide. She spoke to Fenella about the frogs that communicate with her on the farm, her musical history and other matters that inspire. I know a little girl who used to buy This Mortal Coil records from a shop called The Record Plant in the Imperial Arcade. Like so many cool things...it's not there any more.
A few groovers are still gadding around though. In fact, Henry Rollins and Ian MacKay( Fugazi) are here now. I saw the Rollins Band in Melbourne in '89 (a story for another time). Then again in Golden Gate park a few years later. People were obsessed with him.
I talked with Ian and Amy Farina ( his partner in The Evens/ex Warmers drummer) about all the choices in yoga these days. Zan was very impressed that Ian made his own tea in the kitchen as he chatted to her in his unasuming way. I'm keen and curious to attend The Evens performance tonight at Glebe Town Hall. Everybody who went last night(Cheeky, Sam Clode and the pastry chef to name some)labelled the show as AMAZING.
What beautiful people have been popping by. I love this job.
Oops. Tim Flannery is knocking at the door. Gotta go.

Men in Suits with Pints
Fionn Regan came in last week. He had a very pretty girlfriend, and he was our best ever smelling guest ( I thought). Later that night, Fionn supported Damien Rice...
I went along to the show with special friend MR. We attended on the night Damien did not talk. A girl waved a lighter through 'Blowers Daughter'.We thought we may get thumped or thrown out for laughing. MR kept asking me to too loudly why had he not seen a glimpse of Damien's pupils, and mentioning the depressive nature of his stage presence.
I seem to recall later in the evening, like, about 5am, I saw white men, and women, who can't dance- breakdancing to Cindi Lauper at a near by pub. At least, this is how I remember it.
The gallery opening on Curlewis St this past weekend was pleasant. at the end. Some talent scouts bailed up three of us for an RTA ad try-out. We were asked to pretend there was a Manaro going by, and to wave our little fingers around, suggesting the drivers had small dicks. I'm a great actress until it comes to things I would never do- hence the outcome.

Lamp Posts, Filigree and Crickets
Diplo is here co-hosting with Zan at my place of work. Lush. Hollertronix. 'Weslo' Pentz rocks. Playing great stuff and currently discussing favela in Latin America. ( Have you been to the club owned by models and construction workers on Roslyn St yet?). Diplo has recently been in Wagga Wagga and other regional/outback areas. He has been working with young Aboriginal guys in juvenile centres making some tunes. ( Thanks to Nina Agzarian and her mum I hear).Speaking of movers and go-go girls..Alice Brennan told me about..
The 2nd Sydney Latin American Film Festival, which commenced last night at the Chauvel Cinema. What a Fiesta! I went along with the lovely plus plus Catherine from JTV and her 85 yr old (splendid) grandmother. It was packed. I was very glad to have just had my Market City manicure before walking in to that room filled with feisty sexy Latin women of all ages. The( $100 bargain) band played and the food flowed. They really managed to create South America in Paddington! And yes- there was Tequila. Grandma enjoyed a sangria. Woo woo it was hot in there. The big circle of women my mothers age I noticed kicking up their heels was most encouraging. It reminded me of an underground clothing ad, which suggests that Bush and Bin Ladin's problem has been their lack of grasp on the concept of PARTY.
Continuing on the South American theme, Russell from Chaos just came in and said there is this new restaurant in Coogee ( La Charumba?) where you pay $30, they give you a green and red light to put on your table, and when you press the green light, it gives them the signal to come and carve massive amounts of meat onto your plate..... I gather this can go on all night long if you so choose...
For a less meaty experience, Nick Findlay and others have mentioned that last weeks Dapled Cities harbour cruise was really lovely. NF is thinking all shows ought to be played on boats from now on. Steve Cannane once took me along on a Celebrate Rifles boat cruise...it was very Northern Beaches..People bobbing up and down and splashing their bourbon and cokes all over one another..that kind of thing.
Of course, transport is always a thing to consider. I asked The Dr this morning if there is a party I can vote for that is purely about public transport. He said surely there may be, and he will look into it. When my university boyfriend moved to America. He told me that in LA, only crazy people catch public transport. When the head of LA public transport came to Sydney Town Hall a few years ago, he said, in a speech to our bus and rail authorities that Sydney public transport reminded him of LA in the 50's...A clue about the direction we are headed?
I saw the delightful sight of a girl on the art gallery stairs reading a novel in the late afternoon sunshine the other day. I felt like we CAN do Paris here, and wish I'd had my camera in the bag( I sure as hell had everything else). This reminded me of my father..he was a picture takin' newspaper man. I also thought of him when I gave to the Salvo's this morning (his preferred charity)..I have been giving to charity a lot lately. It feels really good, why did it take me so long?. Perhaps I just used to think " I help people enough already!! I can't help anybody else, I am a charity case!!!!".
On that note. Time to go window shopping in expensive stores I can't buy anything in over lunch break! Yesterday I was handed a free sample of the newly released in Australia, Kennith Cole fragrance, RSVP. Fitting. ( In the way of event invites I mean, not the RSPCA online date service!)

Lemon and Teal Accessories; Arcades and Petticoats
Today a girl I work with, let's call her Myfanwy, said she cried over a guy singing on Idol... Apparently it was very moving when he hit those high notes.MMmmm. Did anyone catch that great episode of Four Corners called 'Battling the Booze' featuring Dicko? Very good.
A package tied up with string arrived containing a see through blouse covered in roses. It wreaked of perfume and pheromones. The recipient..Dool McCool was rather respectful and gallant about the whole thing.
Funny sight this morning speaking of Bondi characters. There were the usual hundreds of solemn faced tanks running up and down the soft sand as there are on any day. (The try hard ones like myself might also be spotted shuffling along). Today three wasted skater guys were sitting on the ramp screaming out jib and taunts relentlessly. It was so improper and hilarious. I've a feeling they rolled over from Bexley and thought they'd have some fun. On a similar note...
This Saturday night begins Bad Kids Recreational Club upstairs at Bar Broadway. Young and the Restless will be playing, and Levins will be DJing.
Mel from Remote Control was just in saying she had been to the opening of Rocky Balboa. She confirmed that people are definitely dressing up to go see this film. So keep that in mind.

Raw Food Restaurants and Mediterranean Colours
A guy just phoned and said his name was Beautiful. I said that I thought he sounded like that bronzed swami looking person with the grey pony tail who handed out flowers on Bondi Beach promenade with all the signs about 'Nothing For Sale Just Love To Give'. He said he was that guy.
I'm not sure why he called.
The new 'Of Montreal' Cd is really great -Hissing Fauna, Are you the Destroyer?. Julia Wilson from Popfrenzy bought it in yesterday. There were a few great Roxy Music moments on one of the first tracks. I always celebrate when an album can be enjoyed from start to finish without that ADD feeling.
The new Arcade Fire will be big too.
Did you hear about Snoop Dog thanking Justin " Hermies"(as in rhymes with Kermies) for putting on Good Vibrations? Wonder if he caught up with Juz babes and John Howard's son at Kerry Stokes sons bucks party in Vegas recently. Speaking of young liberals..
Did you see that amazing piece JTV did last Friday night on their HACK segment? Scary!

Great Wigs, Button Jars and Ornate Pastries
Tropfest. In the enclosed area there were everyone from F to B+ grade celebs doing a good job of milling. Chris and Craig( Chasers War...) purported that Andrew Denton was there...how did I miss him? There was one great dress on a familiar looking girl who was talking to Mike and Mark from Bar Solutions. It was long and red with these extensive multi coloured fringey tassel things on the end..kinda Tibetan/ Peru meets New York. I noticed some very interesting filmy types with cred there known to me from Waldman's Pain Relief Clinic days(Darlinghurst institution). One fellow( Read: Special senior) knowingly informed me the Tropfest short films were all very adolescent and using themes that were more suitable for feature length films. He noted wit was out of fashion. The winners name was Steve Baker, which reminded me that in University years I went to a warehouse party, met a charming pretty boy English sulker, who came and stayed for 6 crazy months. He shared this name. The Steve I refer to was interested in sharing everything in fact..unless he was paying.
There were a number of people who snuck off to get take away. I saw a few ravenous souls gorging big macs over bins with drips galore. Very VIP. Yum. Yep, people were starving- except the spoilt judges who were in the VIP behind the VIP. George Miller and Richard Wilkins were definitely offered oysters and such. Oh, and there were little dinner boxes on seats people were asked to sit in whilst the films screened for the average VIP who held out.
Regular VIPs were also given a bag to take home containing a minuscule bottle of Cointreau, a bit sized chocolate and 8kg ms of paper.
The after party was at Zeta Bar of course. Perhaps you were there looking at the pretty blue lights against the Queen Vic's upper stoney beauty. Speaking of things we like the sound of...
Aaron from Spunk sent in the new Explosions in The Sky Cd yesterday. Titled, All of A Sudden I miss Everyone. If you like your delicious instrumental c/o the States- get it. We don't need to look so far for everything when it comes to what's hot these days....
I noticed the girls from Puff n Stuff( Bondi and Surry Hills) have been reading up on their style mags. Russh Magazine is at the top of the pile which is a great thing. So happy that Australia has a fashion magazine to jump up and down about.
The lovely Linda is asking me whether to choose MMs regular, MMs peanut, Skittles or Jaffas out of the RSPCA machine. Linda Rad has the best smile I know of on a regular basis. The idea is you put in a dollar and get a small girly handful in the name of charity. People always choose the same ones on the same days. What the Bleep Do I Know?( As in wacky quantem physicsy film with crazy professor that suggestd we are all connected.)
I've been asked to play poker at an eastern suburbs pub tonight. Seems that cards are replacing trivia of late. Nic the errrrr...nchanting(?!) Italian explosion from Chatterbox was in today saying Hooters at Parramatta is the new entertainment for those hipper than nows in the inner west who are over what is available locally.A whole rave travelled from his mouth re the Zen of Hooters. He also plans to set up a similar joint called Weeners with male waiters in tight underwear. This would be situated in Newtown, home of the enlightened female.
Time for a sunset swim. The twilight is so strangely perfect at this time of year.

Enlightened Gossip Meets Crochet
Good Vibrations was very much like Good Vibrations. 36 000 people felt like 50 000. On arrival, one always seems to be greeted by a dust storm. There was one outfit that caught my eye. It was very simple. A girl with a great set of legs wearing those fish nets with the really big holes and cut of denim short fairly shorts. Putting J5 in that little tent was stupid and annoying( they were fabulous). Bars set up by Bacardi always run out of everything that isn't Bacardi ( Hello Bacardi man Raj.....very suspicious). Yoda was great.Beastie Boys reminded me of that band that play along side David Letterman, and ,my x boyfriend.
I ran off to the pre opening of Zimt restaurant on Crown for Tash the comedians birthday( Smile and Nod). She showed me her photo taken with the guy from Little Britain. Delicious Austrian food- where that Vespa Bar used to be. Luke from Kido Store was there, along with Sash and Sass from Attic ( see this months edition of Bazaar), and Tina the artist.
I know others went to the Bat and Ball Hotel, or De Nom for shenanigans with Snoop. Melt has been another popul-at Saturday night spot of late.( Hello Levins).
There was an all Night Beach Party c/o Simon Aveling on Friday night. However a certain charming couple hosted a little 'first JTV of the year' screening soiree at their home that everyone always relishes in and wants to move into. This is where I found myself. Best ever dips and Turkish bread from Cleveland St.( Erciyes)
The following morning we did make it to Boy Charlton Pool to bliss out and drool over Sydney- harbour that is. Chantal, the woman of style, charm, grace, quality, smarts and a good pedicure, is hooked on the place since arriving home from a lengthy stint of living in New york. I'm just jazzed on my darling sister/friend/rock/ all knowing one goddess being home! She always gets me kempt and tells me if I've "got a bit" on my face. We even saw this paddle steamer type boat with a toot toot steam blowing horn thing. So cute!
Please don't disown this missive when I tell you I was going through some Cd's a delightful girl from Sony gave me- we shall call her Bron. Anyway, I found 'Still the Same...Great Rock Classics of Our Time' by Rod Stewart. I put it on, and did not take it off. I enjoyed it. Yes. OK, well...It made me think of old groovy school teachers or something...Also on the back of the CD there is a photo of Rod baby, still rockin' still relevant, standing in a pose and reminding me of a guy I work with!

Shimmering Plastic- Some Occasions Just Call for Fancy
I love the new Factory venue. Last night Jenny Wilson played a divine show in pumphey stripes- it was a bit like a dress I have been admiring recently on a D Jones's billboard- and sparkly stockings. The stage setting had the artsy feeling of David Lynch with the joy of Lucille Ball. I loved all those pretty xylophoney gongy sounds( see, it's all about those gong's again). We were all so happy. Ahhhh. Contented sighs. There were a few musical directors, programmers, presenters there, Cultured Clubbing type authors, fashion and graghic designers, label owners, models, band members, radio marketing peeps, producers, band managers, us regular suspect types/ Simon Aveling, a Teenager from Tokyo and a pastry chef.
Speaking of sweets.
I went to friend Amelia's wedding a few weeks ago. She and her now hubby, V, remind me of Bewitched- except he is a bit more The Professor from Gilligan's Island, meets 50's mainland Hollywood film star, than Darren. Also, when Vincent is at the BBQ...the one he found...Maxwell Smart comes to mind. They have a pool. I like to go to wherever they are and pretend they are my mum and dad. Just call me Tabatha Today. Their wedding restored my faith in such called events. The after party was at The Hollywood with Jamie Katz doing a set I could not leave. Mmmm..recollections of shimmeying to theme from Batman.
I have a premonition I am going to meet a few guys who call themselves Nightmares on Wax today .
Presently Mix Master Mike and Diplo are both here; old and new fabulousness. A lot of people are sporting dark glasses these last few days I notice. When I think of Audrey....
Catherine, one of the most stylish friends I have, (which is really saying something), comes to mind. She is gaily parading by in her newishly purchased Orson and Blake skirt that I wish to own. Wow- they have a great cafe at that shop on Devonshire St( which makes up for not necessarily having the cash to shop there).
A boy just called and said he was Lorne from Vicious in Melbourne( so cool). I reminded him we had met before when I informed him he had the next hot/it name. Dontcha think?

Tuberose Champagne and Gardenia Oil
Jenny Wilsons arrival reminded me the first snowflakes that fall at the start of a season(and not just because of those white spots on her blue top). She is so beautiful.I was surprised to find she is a mother of two as my first thought on seeing her was that she appeared so young (like..20?). She seemed like one of those people it would be wonderful to chat with for hours. Perhaps it really is time to move to Sweden and become a musician like my old friend Richard the seven foot tall opera singer.
Glen from Augie March was around today. I refrained from saying anything, unlike my usual "Wow, I just love you guys, I think you are so great, I love what you do..."gibberish that surfaces every time one of the band members appear. Perhaps I admire anyone who can give my emotions a reminder they are there.
Yesterday in yoga, Peter said when we act on ideas which have no real planning they will fail( or something like that). I felt like he was talking to (whimsical) me, even though he was talking about the trikinasina pose ( I'm a little teapot kind of movement- sort of ).
So tonight, Jenny will play at The Factory. Also, Diplo will play at the Brite'n Up Bar. It will have to be pretty amazing to beat the show at the Mandarin Club after last years Good Vibrations. It might just be as hot up there though.
I met Cassius today. I forgot to look and see if the guys were wearing long pants that were just a little bit short as French men often do. I was too busy listening to their beautiful voices.( READ FLIRTY!) Apparently they think Sydney is fabbo and friendly.
This takes me back to Champagne. Since it is around that Valentine's time, here is an aphrodisiac recipe: take very good quality and perhaps difficult to source Tuberose essential oil, place a few drops in a glass of very good champagne. Garnish with a Tuberose bud. Yum. It works too.

Crosswords and Camisoles
I love those advertising poses of girls doing that sort of Marilyn posture where they bend forward and grab hold of their dress with a great smile; Uma Thurman and Megan Gale come to mind. I wonder what Jenny Wilson will be wearing when she comes in today. People are loving Swedish music radah radah radah.
Whilst there was no sign of Simon Aveling in the pub on the corner last night ( that guy is everywhere!), there were kids and folk from FBi, Triple J, PopFrenzy,Liberation, Lindsay from Frenzal singing and swaggering around with his guitar case, and Toby from Youth Group performing Leonard Cohen. Very beautiful soul sister friend Nicole who has been visiting from Rossmore Country Court Ireland noted the enormous number of big beards on very young faces. I'd had it in my mind that thin twisty arty muuuoooostaches had made a comeback. Must make note to self to get it together where facial fashion is concerned. (I think pins are coming out of faces aren't they?)...Did I tell you about the time I saw this guy in a bookshop and thought it looked like Nick Cave with a funny mo, so I went up to have a look at him as it seemed kinda funny..and then it was him ( think Mr Darcy in the corner with the books, wanting to be left alone). To make it more weird, he showed up at my place of work shortly after and looked at me as if to say....you're that girl I just saw...Then he came and stood next to me, like, my whole life I have wanted to tell him we are meant to be best friends...and then I could not think of anything to say.( And when does that happen??) Then he commented that the smoking fake fish aquarium next to my desk was "Most disturbing" ( I didn't put it there!!!)He really wanted a meat pie and a flavoured milk .
Anyway, on leaving the show last night, other Nik and I walked around to where we used to live. This was before she married Jeff from the Tea Party and moved to Montreal ( sexy cool place where one can be both hip, and go within, right?). We noticed our dwelling on Arthur St had been very much renovated. It was the changes to The Clock Hotel that depressed her. What's with the yuppie look everywhere? "MMMmmmmost people with money in Sydney have no taste?", I sighingly explain.
Thumbellina in Somersault Mode
If you suffer malaise, I discovered these great little things called Bevitone Tablets at Newtons Pharmacy. It says: Recommended for Nervous Debility, Prostration, Headaches, Tension, Anxiety. ( There, you know too much about me already). They are filled with 'biochemic' minerals. They have these other interesting ones called AVENOL for nervous tension and mental strain. Well worth checking out, and affordable too. It's so quirky in there!
Amber just told me in being late getting to the beach yesterday for a sunset swim, I missed Snoop Dog and his entourage of babes teetering along in heels, dressed in their white trackies. Apparently he likened his penis to a meat pie. I think Amber is the coolest person I know in may respects..which is saying a lot.
So last night people were at the Hopetoun making animal noises with Old Man River, and tonight they can go back there for love songs and break up songs with great Australian performers like Jack Ladder. There might even be a girl there named Grace Jones.
I'm having trouble putting down the last weeks edition of The Bulletin which contains articles like " Why I fell for Kevin Rudd " by Maxine McKew. I have not been this grown up since high school.

Letter Writing and Cowgirl Dresses
Friend who manages Zeta Bar and I went to one of those bike riding classes in the dark with the music playing last night. He is prone to a enjoying a good drink and smoke,.. a lot...So the joy came from walking around the streets of Surry Hills afterwards looking at all the pretty shops with all the pretty things..and finding a glass of bubbles to put in hand. It's easy to morph into Bridget Jones on any given day.
KUNDALINI YOGA. She had a whispery voice and a white outfit. There was a big gong. I did it on the weekend. You must go.I've never been so challenged. I kept thinking she would say we could stop doing the particular movement we were doing about two minutes before she said stop. You must go.
This is all I have to say today as I am the damsel of multi tasking. All the reps are in milling around. Money Mark is here in very dark glasses(good vibe), and that infamous boy from Chatterbox said he met somebody the other day with a big gong. Last year I thought fencing was the next big thing, now I'm thinking it's gongs.
Old Man River are playing tonight at The Hoey. Sarah, 'there's just something about her', very lovely girl who looks after them, told me she had cherries on her mind today. Methinks this is a good reason to go along.

Do You Like Your Edemame Hot or Cold....
We discussed this, 'I'm Your Man'- the film about Leonard Cohen, and other matters, a'four girls lunching together in Chinatown yesterday that is. On the way back to the office I noticed these eggs boiled in tea at a supermarket. I'm into tea. This was rather handy when Johnny Marr came in craving a cup of lemon green recently. We talked about the time he played with The The at the Hordern Pavilion. He raised his eyebrows in remembrance and commented that it was a fantastic show ...and incredibly hot. It was certainly a different show to the one played with Modest Mouse at The Enmore a few hours after the tea drinking episode.
Mickey Avalon..it's just all about this guy this week. The other night at Club 77 it looked like a Madonna Film clip with all those camera bulbs flashing in his direction. Some will go to his show tonight at the Gaelic Club while others will head to Chinese New Year celebrations, Ruby Rabbits 3rd birthday Hoes and Gunslingers party,or perhaps one of our favourite people from EMIs farewell drinks at Gazebo wine bar(yum)..or maybe a spot of Macromantics at Spectrum. Lots of fashionable looking people keep asking me to go upstairs to The Brighton Bar. Artists that relate to Inertia seem to be frequenting the place. Maybe people like it because it still looks old and unconverted. Distasteful renovations are a topic that I am sure Nick Cave would have something funny to say about. This is my lead into how much I love the new Nick Cave and the boys Grinderman album.
So happy it is 4.55 on a Friday.

Magic Light- At the End of the Day
I walked along the beach yesterday afternoon at sunset. I noticed a bird. It was perched on top of a light post near the Icebergs building, above me, in the distance. There was something about it's tall look. The magnificent stature thing was going on. Head held high, flapping wings in air. I had to watch,( flapping flappity flap). I wanted to see it take off, I knew this was going to be great. So, I stood there. It would happen in a moment..
Then bird scratched itself, wings noising off like Grandma's sheets on the old post clothes line.... It kept flapping those wings…looking good…perhaps bird was even talking about flying. Then I became concerned, having promised myself I would wait there until take off, that creature did not really know how to fly. The gracious flapping continued. Such a beautiful bird.
Fifteen minutes went by. The bird had dropped from its backside and scratched some more. Despite being the impatient person that I often am, I had to wait there and watch it take off…as I had become concerned that I was the bird. Watching myself hold off from taking off was the most painful sight I had witnessed for sometime. I was getting frustrated and annoyed that the promising flapping continued, with no action to back it up.
No doubt I looked very silly just standing there starring at the one spot. Then, perhaps when I was not expecting it, or expecting anything. When I was feeling disappointed in the bird, it took off, the bird was a gliding Sea Eagle. It flew itself with a swift grace and precision down to the waves and caught something.
This little observational story is for Jonathan; Harley, not Livingston Seagull.

Cute Little Wine Bars on Street Corners with Late Afternoon Summer Thunder Storms
I'm off to do yoga at the beautiful Sydney Yoga Space (East Sydney) with the always something to offer, Peter Thomson, and then to an opening at the Art Gallery of NSW. The yoga school is like a gallery itself. It is worth going to class just to look at the light against that particular outlook of the city skyline.
That groovy guy who created Spunk Records came in today. After chatting about the recent Spunk showcase at NIDA ( Holly Throsby, Andrew Bird, Smog, and Joanna Newsom), I just had to comment on Joanna's outfit! Wow. Who dressed her gush gush?
LOVER, came the reply. We also chatted about the whistling ability of Andrew Bird. The biggest thing since Antony ( and his Johnsons).
The new edition of The monthly Magazine came out this week. It was a good thing I had it to read last night as three buses did not show up along my bus route!! I really feel it would be most helpful if politicians had to catch public transport on a regular basis- and I don't just mean a token ride from Vaucluse to Oxford St Paddington during peak hour!( Malcolm Turnbull sat next to me on the bus once).

Fingerprint Designs and Pretty Sunsets- The Year So Far
The best T-shirt I have seen this year was sported by a co-worker on Australia Day. It said:
FREE BINDI
Ana ( Arna) and Jake from Scissor Sisters came in today. Nothing but compliments around the office about these people. She shines. I asked a co-worker to stop me from starting to sing just before they popped in, as I could feel it coming on.
Smiles.
Chrissie Hynde came in last week which rocked me alive. She has presence. I happen to have met and known a woman she grew up with. I tell her this.
" Hoover? You know Hoover ?" she bellowed.
Chrissie does not do animals or email, but she does do coffee and sass. Those PETA people she stopped by with were bright and delightful too.
Neko Case and her band bumping into Chrissie were the most excited people of the day. Neko performed a pretty show at the Annandale Hotel that night.
The Pretenders show I saw at the State Theatre a few days later moved me to damp eyes on a few occasions. She has style and Oh my giddy can she sing? Does anybody do cool like her any more?
Peaches was also most impressed whilst she undressed , and then dressed up again too. Miss Peaches mentioned that The Pretenders changed everything for her. She also ate raspberries and had a beautiful gap between her teeth. She smiled a lot and was polite and someone we would all like to know more of.
Attended a workshop at The Watershed on the weekend. The topic- worm farming. I rate the whole experience as very worthy. Every council ought to have one.
